As I reflect on my third year as CEO of Navigate Forward, I want to share our highlights from 2021.
Our business continues to thrive, thanks to an extremely active labor market, our successful shift to hybrid delivery of services, and new offerings that enable us to serve senior leaders at multiple stages in their careers.
Fast Landings, Multiple Offers
With an extremely active labor market, our executive clients averaged just 7.4 months between gigs—our shortest time in transition since 2017. One-third of our executive jobseekers landed their next role in under four months; many received multiple offers and increased their compensation.
We continue to scale our business to better serve companies and senior executives locally, nationally and globally. We’ve upgraded our technology and streamlined our processes. We hired new team members for in-person engagements in the Twin Cities, Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest, in addition to virtual engagements.

Board Readiness, which helps tenured executives land their first for-profit board seat, remains our fastest-growing service. For the second year, we’re thrilled to see multiple program alumni recognized as Outstanding Directors.
New Legacy Planning and Onboarding Services
In addition to our flagship outplacement services, we launched two new corporate programs. Executive Legacy Planning helps companies activate succession plans by helping retiring or departing leaders define their next chapter. Fast Start accelerates new leader results and contributions by up to six months with structure and support during the new executive’s first 100 days.
Incredible Client Feedback
Most importantly, our clients continue to value our customized approach and recommend us to their peers. In 2021, we helped more than 350 senior leaders advance their careers. Our Net Promoter Score averaged 87; clients consistently rate their executive consultant a 4.9/5.0 scale.
