Margot McManus
Executive Consultant
In some companies, there’s a person whose informal title is “rainmaker,” because they have the energy, foresight and connections to make big things happen. While Margot McManus’ official Navigate Forward title is “executive consultant,” she’s also a rainmaker in the professional lives of her clients. How does she do it? “I’m a good listener, but I’m also a good connector,” she says. Her own “deep bench” of personal and professional connections has been gained through her executive-level corporate work, as well as her robust volunteer activities. For her clients, she offers empathy, insight and introductions to people and organizations they might never before have considered. “My connections may lead to your next act,” she says.
Before joining the Navigate Forward team, McManus was a strategic human capital leader at the executive level, with expertise in both management and culture building. She’s interviewed, placed and worked with people at every level of organizations in a wide variety of industries, including engineering, food manufacturing, distribution, technology and hospitality.
She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and History from the University of Wisconsin, where she met her husband. Active in the community, she enjoys serving as a member of the Women’s Leadership Council and as a board member and mentorship chair of TeamWomen. She’s a former board chair of the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, where she still volunteers and has supported for over 25 years.
A Minneapolis resident, McManus is a downhill skiing fan who loves winter ski vacations with her family and friends. Her happy place is anywhere near water, and she loves to cook, read, hang with friends and drink wine.
