Eileen Schmidt brings innate curiosity, a systematic approach and a range of leadership development experience to her role with Navigate Forward. In every engagement, she taps her deep expertise to help individuals grow into more skilled, courageous and authentic leaders. Her experience across cultures and sectors lends perspective and insight to her work.
She began her career in human resources, leading key efforts for Fortune 500 companies Nike and American Express. Eileen then pivoted her skills to support two nationally recognized non-profits, including launching a successful regional presence with Girls, Inc. An entrepreneur at heart, she currently runs Illumin, a leadership development and coaching practice working with individuals and teams.
Eileen volunteers with The Immigrant Story, a non-profit that documents, narrates, and curates stories about immigrants in order to promote empathy and advance an inclusive community. A lifelong learner, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Oregon State University, a master’s degree in educational and organizational psychology from the University of Minnesota, and a master’s degree in education from Marylhurst University.
Eileen describes herself as an avid traveler who loves outdoor activities, photography and exploring different cultures. She cherishes being a mom to two grown daughters. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and golden retriever, Ruby.
