NEWS & EVENTS — NEWS & PUBLIC APPEARANCES:
Fight Job Search Fatigue

Mary Kloehn and Teresa Daly, co-founders and managing partners of Navigate Forward, talked with KSTP morning news reporter about how to Fight Job Search Fatigue. It’s Mary’s and Teresa’s belief that the well prepared professional will NOT wither in these tough times. In fact, that person can thrive with the right tools and the right strategy.
Four ways to fight job search fatigue include:
- Cast a Deeper, Not Wider Net
When fighting job search fatigue, it’s tempting to think: “I’ll do anything, just get me a job!!” Don’t be that person. It’s critical to stay focused on finding a job in line with your unique skills and experience. What you can do is search across different fields and industries for positions requiring your skills that you might not have otherwise considered.
- Networking 2010
Results come from building your own buzz and face-to-face connections. Network to your strategy, not just to get a coffee buzz with everyone you know and meet. And don’t forget what you know from Networking 101 – follow up calls, e-mails and thank yous are critical and occasionally forgotten, even today.
- Professional Brand Profile
Take the time to develop yours, not just think about it. Sit down at the computer and WRITE. IT. OUT. Who are you as a professional? What do you bring to the table?
- Social Media Support
Now that you have a brand profile, make sure you’re delivering on that brand through smart use of social media tools such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook
