NEWS & EVENTS — NEWS & PUBLIC APPEARANCES:
January 31, 2010 — Teresa Daly and Mary Kloehn, co-founders and managing partners of Navigate Forward, Inc. were guest speakers on WCCO TV with Esme Murphy.

The interview focused on jump starting your job search in 2010. Teresa and Mary believe that a productive job search requires job seekers to ‘go the distance’ with a clear and focused strategy. They offered four tips for jump starting your job search today.
- Develop a 12 week plan: In this tight job market you need to think ‘marathon, not sprint.’ A clearly defined plan will help you stay focused. We recommend you spend 5 hours a day on your job search – being very disciplined. [ONLY 30 minutes on job boards, 1 hour doing company/people research, 1 hour phone/email time to set appts, etc.; 2 ½ hours being seen or in face to face meetings.
- Stay on message: Know your unique ‘brand’ and be able to clearly articulate it. Changing your message confuses the market.
- Stay on strategy: Develop the overarching theme of your target market. Know where your expertise intersects. Be able to speak to that.
- Network smarter: Use social media as tools, but results come from face-to-face connections. Network to your strategy, not just to have coffee with everyone you know and meet.
