A Baby Boomer’s Non-Financial Guide to Retirement
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (August 5, 2008) – A lot of the more than 76 million baby boomers headed toward retirement are losing sleep at night, not because they are worried about having enough money to retire. They are wondering what they want to do with the rest of their life.
“We have known authors Joan Strewler-Carter and Steve Carter for years and we were excited to bring their expertise and insights to our work and to the Twin Cities business community,” said Teresa Daly, managing partner at Navigate Forward.
“We work with executives in transition. These transitions can vary greatly depending on the executive. We find that many of our baby boomer clients are not interested in transitioning to traditional retirement,” said Mary Kloehn, managing partner.
“They want more flexibility but they also want to work and they want work that is more about significance than success. Joan and Steve understand this and write about it.”
“We are pleased to see their new book because it is a resource to use in planning the next chapters of your life. This will be a great tool to help our baby boomer clients make good transitions,” Kloehn continued.
The Carters are co-founders of the Life Options Institute, an organization dedicated to helping people plan for life after age 50. What’s Next in Your Life? along with a companion workbook are easy to read and cover many non-financial issues including the age to retire, whether to continue working, the pursuit of a new career, relocation options, volunteering, staying connected, and wellness considerations.
