Mary Kloehn, Teresa Daly and Susan Flagler were featured in the June 2008 issue of Minnesota Business. They said they have more than 70 years of combined experience in helping executives not only change jobs and but also answer the question: What do I want to do for the next 30 years?
In the article, Mary Kloehn said she had not had a conversation with a person who has celebrated a 50th birthday who has not started to ask, Is this all there is?
Teresa Daly added that no one else in the Twin Cities is having a conversation with executives on how to find a job that helps to build significance and legacy – as opposed to simply finding the next job.
Mary went on to explain that the difference in our generation is that we realize that we’re going to work a lot longer. Retirement only means leaving one job and going on to another. We will probably work well past when our parents retired.
One of Teresa’s clients, Terilyn Turner, Ph. D. was interviewed for the article after Teresa helped her put together the ideal plan after her retirement. She said it wasn’t easy to figure out what to do next and that you really need help clarifying your thinking, figuring out new directions, and looking at different options.
