Katie Cooney

As a member of the Navigate Forward team, an executive coach, and an expert in leadership awareness, career purpose, career transition and resilience, Katie helps executives clarify their paths as leaders of  influence, certainty, and impact.  In her 20-year career working with Kevin Cashman at Leadersource and as a Senior Consultant at Korn/Ferry Leadership and Talent Consulting, she has worked with executives in Europe, Asia, and the US in industries including financial services, pharmaceuticals, health care, consumer goods, nonprofit and education. 

A published author, Katie wrote “Stay Competitive by Staying Resilient,” M World, and was co-author of “Awareness Before Action,” Personal Excellence.She was also a key contributor to the development of Korn/Ferry’s programs and communications, including the Korn/Ferry Coaches’ Guide and the LeaderPlanSM Guide used in its flagship executive coaching programs.

Katie is a frequent speaker on careers, purpose and resilience, and teaches principles of human development in coaching and team building as an adjunct program instructor for Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is a member of the University of Saint Mary’s Advisory Group for Graduate and Professional Programs and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Minnesota Chapter for the Association of Career Professionals International.

Katie holds a master’s degree in human development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in English, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota. She received formal Coaches’ Training through the New Ventures West “Coaching to Excellence” program, and is a certified Career Management fellow. Katie is certified and experienced in the use of multiple assessments and 360° instruments to build executive awareness.
